Aidens First Monster Scare

Today me and Aiden were bored and I found a movie, "Ernest Scared Stupid" on HBO On Demand. I thought it would be a funny movie for me and Aiden to eat popcorn to and watch. Tonight about 2 hours into bedtime I hear Aiden crying hysterically. I walked in and he's sitting up in bed scared to death that the Troll from this movie is in his closet. So me and Aiden turned his lights on and each got a sword and went Troll hunting! haha! We searched his room up and down but that wasn't good enough. He was still worried the troll might come through the walls. I don't know if you've seen this movie but what kills the trolls is MILK!! So.... Aiden is now sleeping with a big cup of milk just in case the troll shows up. hahaha!!! Now Aiden watches and likes a lot of movies/shows the typical 4-year old wouldn't. For instance one of his favorite movies is Jurassic Park. His favorite part is when the T-Rex eats the guy in the bamboo porta-john, yet he's not scared of that. Funny what kids are scared of. My 4 Year Old knows How to Use a BLACKBERRY

So today I thought it would be a fun idea to teach Aiden how to make calls on Ashley's Blackberry. I thought it would be fun to receive random calls from him while I'm out of town training. Especially funny calls like, "Moms being mean to me" or "Mom wont let me have any gum". Haha! I set my number as speed-dial number 4. (Easy to remember because his age) I tought him how to unlock her phone and how to call me. Well this afternoon I took a quick trip to Advanced Auto Parts for a new headlight bulb and I received 7 calls from Aiden. (within a whopping 15 min.)  Call 1, to ask what I'm doing. Call 2 to ask if I'm done. Calls 3-7, to say, "Hey dad I just wanted to call and say I love you. Ok, bye". Now...... I'm still cracking up everytime I receive a call but I can see where this is going. You may be receiving an email from me with a phone number change! bahahah!! OH NO!!!  Shrek just blew-junks all over the carpet. (Just thought I should mention that)

New Chapter in my life

Well as most of you may know I was layed off my job with Verizon back in Nov. I took a little break through the holidays to spend some much needed time with Aiden and Ashley, and also to think about what my next career move was going to be. For Christmas I received a great offer with Office Depot for an Assistant Store Manager position at the Creedmoor Rd. location. With a lot of thinking I decided it would be a great move for me to gain some experience in the corporate world learning the operations of a large retail/office supply company. It is a big step for me and I'll be managing several more employees than I used to but I'm really excited. I started my 4-6 week training program in Burlington, NC yesterday and so far it's going great! I checked into my hotel room last night that will be my new home until March 3rd. This is my first time traveling out of town, by myself and is really missing Ashley and Aiden. Luckily mom and dad let me borrow there netbook so I get to Skype with them at night. I was on tonight and I they couldn't even talk to me because Shrek was constantly getting in front of the computer screen to see me! I think he misses me the most! haha. Well I've got 2 more days here until the weekend and I get to go home to see my loves. It's almost time for the new "The Office" so adios amigos!!

So this morning me and Ashley woke up to Aiden apologizing to us and acting very weird. We kept asking, "What did you do, son." and he refused to tell us. Finally he said, "Dad, come here and I'll show you. I accidentally drew on the carpet. Dad, I was trying to draw you a picture!" I walked around the corner to our dining area (Aiden's Playroom) and he had taken his Bubble-Yumm and Jolly-Rancher Chap Stick from Christmas and had drew all over the carpet.

    Me and Ashley watch Americas Funniest Videos religiously and were talking the other night about why Aiden doesn't do those funny random things these people catch on video. Well here you go, and there will be plenty more to come. Hahahaa!!!

Hello World

Well I have several family members that have blog sites out there, and I'm always following them seeing whats new in there lives. It always puts a smile on my face to see how they are growing and following there day to day activities. With Ashley's side of the family spread out all over the US and as our friends get older and move away I thought this would be a great way for people to keep up with the Dickerson Family.
